Skin1004 Sunscreen Review Comparison Centella vs Hyalu
Comparison: Skin1004 Centella Sunscreen and Skin1004 Hyalu Cica Sunscreen
It is no secret that Asian sunscreen is the bomb. I’m sorry, western sunscreen but you are just sub-par compared to Asian sunscreens. Esp with the advanced filters that Asian sunscreens can use compared to western countries. I recently tested a western sunscreen to see if it is comparable to Asian sunscreen [here]. Today I will review two sunscreens from skin1004, skin1004 Madagascar centella air-fit suncream Light and Skin1004 Madagascar centella Hyalu cica Water fit sun serum. Will these sunscreens be better than western sunscreen or maybe even the best sunscreen?

The Brand: skin1004
I was lucky enough to be gifted skin1004 sunscreens to review. I have done a review for skin1004 on their cleansing oil before (which I love) and I bought it with my own money. Skin1004 is a cruelty-free Korean brand that focuses on creating gentle products. While also creating effective products by obtaining their purest form.

Thoughts of Skin1004 Centella Sunscreen Review
Texture
The skin1004 air fit sunscreen feels like a moisturizer. It blends easily into the skin like a moisturizer. It left my skin looking glowy and feeling soft yet hydrated.
Thoughts: Skin1004 Air Fit Sunscreen Review
I was pretty surprised with the texture of the skin1004 Centella sunscreen. Like most Asian sunscreens the texture of the sunscreen was exceptional. It looks and feels like a moisturizer. It left zero white cast and my skin looked super glowy which is a plus.
Although I love the glow from the sunscreen, it’s not a very hydrating sunscreen. Initially, I thought because of the texture the sunscreen would leave my skin feeling moisturized but after a while, my skin felt a bit dry. This sunscreen probably won’t be able to replace your moisturizer but it is a nice addition.
Overview:
- Price: $15-20
- Rating: 4.4
- Repurchase? Yes, Great lightweight glowy sunscreen
- Skin types: All skin types
- Made my fungal acne worst? Not that I noticed
- Where to buy: Amazon
Final Thoughts
Would I buy it again? Yes, but I might switch to an SPF 50. Spf 30 is a little low for me but the sunscreen is a pretty good physical sunscreen. It looked and felt like a moisturizer while leaving your skin looking glowy and hydrating. This sunscreen probably won’t replace your moisturizer as it’s not hydrating enough. So I would still recommend using a moisturizer before applying this sunscreen. Overall a great glowy lightweight physical sunscreen.

Thoughts of Skin1004 Sunscreen Hyalu Cica
Texture
Just like the Skin1004 Centella Sunscreen the Hyalu Cica looks and feels like a moisturizer. Just as the name states the sunscreen feels like water on the skin. The sunscreen blends and absorbs instantly.
You barely need to rub it into your skin and it just disappears. It left my skin with a healthy glow. It doesn’t leave your skin feeling sticky, it left my skin feeling hydrating.
Thoughts: Skin1004 Hyalu Cica Sunscreen Review
At first, because the sunscreen blended in so fast, I thought it would not be moisturizing. Strangely enough, it is more hydrating than the Centella one. It left my skin feeling dewy and hydrated.
That being said, I still would recommend you to use a moisturizer before applying this sunscreen. Although this is more hydrating, I don’t think it can replace your moisturizer.
Since it blended in immediately with little effort, it would be a great sunscreen to use to reapply throughout the day.
If I had to choose, I would choose Skin1004 Hyalu Cica sunscreen. I liked the hyalu texture and how it made my skin feel. The Hyalu feels more lightweight almost like nothing.

- Price: $15-25
- Rating: 4.5
- Repurchase? Yes, Great lightweight glowy sunscreen
- Skin types: All skin types
- Made my fungal acne worst? Not that I noticed

Final Thoughts
Would I buy it again? Yes. The Skin1004 Hyalu Sunscreen is a lightweight sunscreen that blends with ease. It leaves your skin looking glowy and hydrated. Overall, a great sunscreen option to reapply throughout the day.
Skin1004 sunscreen comparison: Hyalu cica vs Centella
Comparison: Sunscreen from Skin1004 – Skin1004 Madagascar Centella Sunscreen & Skin1004 Hyalu Cica Sunscreen
The Similarities
Both are really good glowy sunscreens and semi-hydrating sunscreens. I love that both sunscreens use Centella as the main ingredient, which is always a great ingredient to include.
The Differences:
Which Sunscreen should you get
Hydration
The Skin1004 Hyalu Cica Sunscreen is more hydrating than the Centella Sunscreen. At first, the Centella sunscreen feels more hydrating. But hyalu is def the real hydrating sunscreen. Although the hylua cica sunscreen is more hydrating I don’t think either could replace your moisturizer.
Feeling on skin
-
- Centella: left a soft yet hydrated powdery feel
- Hyalu Cica: leaves your skin feeling hydrated (like face splashed with water)
Glowiness
-
- Both sunscreens are glowy, not oily type. The healthy subtle sheen.
- Centella was more glowy than the hyalu cica sunscreen
Type
Is Skin1004 sunscreen physical or chemical
-
- Centella is a physical
- Hyalu Cica is a chemical
For What skin type
If you are wondering which skin1004 sunscreen is for oily skin. Honesty, I think both sunscreens could be used by any skin type. However, if you have dry skin I wouldn’t rely on this on providing moisture.
-
- Centella – Since it’s a physical sunscreen it’s best for sensitive skin
- Hyalu Cica – It is lightweight and leaves your skin feeling hydrated perfect for oily skin
Conclusion
Overall, skin1004 Madagascar Centella Asiatica sunscreen and skin1004 sunscreen hyalu cica are both really good Asian sunscreens. They both are lightweight sunscreens that give your skin a healthy glow. Although it’s semi-hydrating it wouldn’t replace a moisturizer. Great sunscreens that help calm your skin and are easily reapplied throughout the day.
